Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Review

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Review

COLOR: Sweetheart = Bright Pink

Retail Price around $6.79

So Clinique and Tarte both have their own version of this product for mucho more. So looks like Revlon is giving them a slight run for their money. BTW I am typing in all PINK in honor of "Sweetheart" :)

So here is the skinny on this chubby pencil :)
I adore these much better then the stains that are like a marker. These feel so buttery, balmy and moisturising for the lips. I could just sit there all day and put it on because it felt oh so good. Color pay off was as you will see huge for this color.

I did not personally get to shop this new product line, as for now, that I know of they are at Harmon's. I don't have a Harmon's near me so that = PROBLEM! What to do? What to do? I called my every wonderful mother who is my biggest support and fan when it comes to beauty and my work and much more. Yes, I have my own personal cheerleader, everyone should!

My Mom saved the day by calling me straight from Harmon's. Now my Mom doesn't have an Iphone yet (I wish!, I would have made her take pics of everything and this is probably why she doesn't have one :( she was very helpful and talked me through the colors. So I have a couple to try and will do each review individual.

Sweetheart as shown is a Hot Bright Pink.

This picture makes it look not as Bright but wait till you see this on my face. :) Now do not be a hater, do not judge, I am baring my soul! Go easy on me! I have NO MAKEUP ON (Sit down so you don't faint!) and my dorky glasses that are wearing off paint on the sides but I love them so I can't throw them out:)

So it isn't so bad but I am more of an eye girl and not a Flamingo Lip kind of girl. In person I feel it was even a tad brighter cause I don't mind it as much in pictures. I am actually sort of liking it now. But it had just enough brightness for me to say I am gonna pass (ONLY CAUSE THE COLOR WAS NOT MY FAV with my skintone it would look fab on someone who saw the sun :)

For fun cause I enjoy making my  mom laugh I sat in the mirror and had a granny moment where I drew the chubby stick around my lips on the outside, she laughed and then I wanted to cry as I soon remembered it was a stain and the joke was on me. It was hilarious! No I didn't take a picture as I didn't need anyone thinking I was serious:)

So I did take it off due to my see through skin and the brightness of the color for my own liking. I can say it stained well for such an item. Also, stayed on my hand for a long time. It felt very nice on the lips. Now as far as other colors I can not judge yet maybe this stained so well due to the color and brightness. That is yet to be found out. I wasn't sure if I would like other colors but I am going to find that out soon. I will share as I play with my new discoveries. My skin tone is funny with certain colors like pinks with a purple edge are no bueno for me. So we will see. I did love the texture on the lips and the fact that if there was any scent it didn't bother e but I don't remember one. Some say there is a slight minty scent. I loathe drugstore scented stuff. I wish I could see all the offered colors and I am picky with colors but the concept if you can find a color that works for you is GREAT!!!

Hugz from me to you and sealed with a..........

See here it is a tad brighter :)

Stay tuned for more :)

Brows & Bridal Beauty Prep

The Perfect Brow, A must for any Bride!

Every Bride has her Pre-Wedding "To Do" list! This particular post isn't just for Brides but also for any girl who wants to maintain flawless well groomed Brows.

I will start however by addressing any beautiful Bride to be, I adore you and can't wait to make your already gorgeous self look fabulous for your day. I am gonna do something I dislike though....It's called BEGGING I am BEGGING you to please make sure to have your Brows done before your wedding! Opting not to do your brows on your Wedding day when you have invested in your gown, hair and makeup and much more is like having Caviar & Cristal on paper plates and plastic cups from the dollar store (NOT THAT I AM KNOCKING THE DOLLAR STORE!). It's just not right :(, no bueno!!!
not doing brows .......it's just not an option!

Brows are huge and often don't get the credit they deserve. Frankly put, they don't even get much product attention and kind of take a back seat. However, this couldn't be further from the truth! Brows are essential and very important when it comes to maintaining a flawless look and eyes that POP!  Many clients ask me what to do to make eyes pop and again this is a very overlooked step of maintenance. People automatically assume if they get the rainbow color palette from the MAC counter they are gonna have GAGA eyes and be Vogue ready but without properly groomed brows you just shot yourself in the foot. Trust me it will hurt. Especially when you are investing in pictures that will be with you for a lifetime. Ain't no turning back on that one. So please heed my friendly advice as I want to see you look your best!

Brows will not only enhance a great eyeshadow application but they will frame the face adding back youth (When done right:) and will be your cherry to your Sundae. Your platinum setting to your diamond and your....you get the point :)

So what advice I offer my Brides and what I have found looks the best is Eye Brow Threading. YES, when I have seen it done it's reminiscent of some torture device used in combat however, I know there are ladies out there that are doing fa more painful waxing that I won't mention because there are unattended children on the web and it also isn't for the faint of heart. Though I am not a fan of the movie itself, I have seen the You Tube clip of the Waxing Scene from The 40 Year Old Virgin and that in itself is enough to make me explore other choices. Given he is waxing his whole chest and we are just talking brows here I feel there are many pitfalls to waxing that leaves me preferring threading even more then I suggest it without needing extra reasons.

Eye brow Threading is a great option because it does not break the skin the way waxing does or lift layers. There is also no risk of burning. you don't want to be that girl! One BIG thing for me that I don't like to see is when people get waxed (And it has happened to me) and you can see where the waxing stops. then the facial fine hair start again, a line of demarcation. Lastly, this being the KICKER makeup will not stick to areas that have been recently waxed. Waxing exfoliates the skin and the fresh new skin ain't having it! not good and with camera technology the way it is you can see it all.

It never fails every Bride that has come to me having been threaded always has pristine brows and it never fails that when I ask what they did ....they had them threaded. So take it from all the bridal veterans and one more thing....this is NOT a DIY project :) I REPEAT NOT A DO IT YOURSELF PROJECT unless you want to come out looking like Scarface. I am not touching that one with a ten foot pole!

IMATS NYC 2012

I HOPE YOU LOVED IMATS AS MUCH AS I DID!!!

Tag along with me as I bring you through each photo below! Maybe next time we can meet up there and say hello! For now......big blogging hugs!

So myface cosmetics decided to send me on a little rendezvous to NYC to attend the IMATS in their honor and report live via twitter all the hot happenings to my fashionista's! For those of you pretties that couldn't make it I wanted to make sure you didn't miss a thing! that's what friends are for!

Here I am...in the car anxiously awaiting arrival :) For my eyes I wore some sweet myface cosmetic eyeshadow blingtones (LOVE) in bellbottom blues, carribean queen and gilt-y (HOT HOT HOT) I also blended one of their new duo shadows in Italian Ice Eye Art Shadow in Pop Culture.
XOXOXOXOX

Arrival at Pier 94! Something about the Manhattan Piers brings me back to vacay mode, maybe it's all those cruise ships i want to so badly be floating away on. I am a beach girl at heart but I love the buzz of the city and the feel of the water. It was a gorgeous day as well. So we arrived at ten and started our day! I couldn't wait to get inside and check out all the excitement! There have been many bloggers and makeup addicts anxiously awaiting this day! For those of you who have never been, consider it a makeup lovers dream! Many wonderful makeup brands (that you can't always have easy access to) under one roof AND....at discounted prices. There are also a lot of guests speakers that are usually award winning celebrity artists that you can check out. I always love watching to see what people have on their hit list to buy!  You also get to see some amazing trends and some little extras like the special effects makeup competition they had going on this year along with the Makeup Museum. if you haven't gone yet be sure to check it out next year as it is open to the public and no need to be a fancy schmancy particular person everyone and anyone is welcome, but your shmancy fancy anyways to me!
xoxoxo

First things first, word to the wise and not so wise :) Order tickets in advance online. you will pay less AND not have to wait in the long lines. It is always a brilliant idea! Especially since Saturday sold out Friday evening. Nothing quite like traveling two hours to be told you got to go home! Waaaaaaaaaa!

First I found this fabulous man! Emmy Award Winning Makeup Artist/Beauty Guru/Absolutely Wonderful Kevin James Bennett! When I have questions on a product I always know I can turn to "In My Kit" to check out what's hot now! He is a sweetheart and brilliant makeup artist! Adore!

This fancy shmancy formula is the bee's knee's. I CAN"T GET ENOUGHT!! I want every one ...oh and you shall see it will happen (I hope :)). This is a revolutionary formula of crushed pearl! These hot mama's create a one of a kind wet, icy, metallic star spangled uncomparable look not yet discovered in a pressed shadow. I am telling you the heavens opened and the angels sang when I opened the box and saw these. To make life even better they match the nail polishes and have some select matching lip glosses. Can this even be real?!? They say this is Hollywoods new obsession and count me in because it is mine too!

The below excerpt is straight from myface cosmetics.....

myface  is makeup for the 21st century; a foolproof colour collection providing women with an all-access pass to Hollywood glamour. More than two years ago we partnered with several of the world's leading makeup artists to create the ideal, red-carpet ready range of colour cosmetics and make it available to women everywhere.
myface  is comprised of three complete colour ranges delineated by skin tone - one for fair skin, one for medium skin and a third for med/dark skin. Within each range are the ideal colours of foundations, concealers, powder, blushers, lipsticks and lip glosses for that skin tone. The range also features an eye collection designed for all skin tones which includes mascara, eye pencils, eyetouch trios and the revolutionary crushed pearl blingtone singles - which create show-stopping icy, iconic eyes. In October of 2008, myface.cosmetics debuted exclusively at Boots stores in the UK and Ireland.

This company has got it going on! I love their style and the way there brand makes me feel when I got to the website I feel as if I am part of the Hollywood scene and I didn't even have to buy a plane ticket! Thanks myface for saving me the extra cash! I love that they have such an easy and accommodating way to shop and how they give me references in how to match my perfect color. Not seen by most companies. Also, I can't fine blingtone anywhere else as it is my new found obsession! I can't help it I am a true makeup junkie at heart! In case your wondering I have not started a support group yet but if I do you are invited!

PROOF is in the pudding! Me in my bellbottom blues and silver screen nail polish woohoo!

Adele Grammy Makeup Look 1

Adele's Grammy Makeup Look #1 0f 2

Soooooooo Excited to share!!!!!
Stay tuned for Look #2.... It is my favorite!!!

Before & After

I didn't use these particular ones (Demi Wispies, My Favorite) from Ardell but these are a great choice!

We used these Ardell lashes in "Babies"and added a second layer for more DRAMA with individual lashes like Adele had.

Makeup Forever Aqua Lip Pencil in 8C, Makeup Forever Lip Palette refills in #207 (I believe) & 415.

I used Style Blush by MAC, Gingerly Blush by MAC to contour the cheek hallows and Matte Bronze to also contour the cheek hallows.

On the eyes I used Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer Eye Primer (Not seen here) and Blanc Type eyeshadow and Saddle Eyeshadow by MAC.

Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes in 2L. We also used Makeup Forever Aqua Black on top for the Gel liner. It is technically a cream shadow but BEST gel liner I have ever seen!(No picture of it here yet but it is in video, an all black round container.)

What a guy wants...What a guy needs....

For most girls, around the time she gets her first Barbie doll a phenomenon begins to happen.  It's as if someone flipped a switch on in her brain. She starts to dream about and plan for one of the biggest days of her life! HER WEDDING DAY!!!

That may seem awfully young but we can't help it, we are girls and it is as natural for us as  our love for shoes and makeup. It is in our blood!

So as we get older those images start to take form. Some girls as they grow to be women may even start a scrapbook or tuck away ideas to remember when the time is right. Some girls even have the wedding planned before their prince gets a chance to come on the scene. TRUE STORY!!! Then there are girls that the second that ring hits the finger and possibly sooner it's as if she just got passed a baton and is running for her dear life to get to the finish line. Whichever way it happens one big thing I think we tend to often overlook in the hustle and bustle and excitement of planning is.........what might the groom want????

In all seriousness though, I think it is important to remember that it is his day too! Now your groom might not particularly care to have any say or any part of the planning or any special requests!  However, I think even if he doesn't, there are some nice things we can do to make him feel a part of the day besides simply showing up.  I know my dear hubby just wanted to walk into the reception to "Eye of the Tiger" and he doesn't ask for much so when he does I know it means something to him. I wanted his wish to be granted. I even went a step further and let his friends do a special skit from the Blues Brother's as my husband loved that movie.  It really made his day and in the end he has some special moments to reflect back on that are his own that he enjoyed and it wasn't just all pink flowers, hearts, cupcakes and girly things.

To give you another example, one which I absolutely thought was great, someone  decided to go off the beaten path and have some fun.  I give the Bride kudos!! The Groom got his wish granted and the picture speaks for itself....

I think Jim Carrey would agree these men looked pretty classy in orange and powder blue! It was fun for the guys and they actually had something special to look forward to and talk about for years to come!  Guys thrive on that stuff!! They walk away feeling like "The Man" and there is no greater gift!

Now if Dumb and Dumber doesn't really line up with your idea of Bridal Fashion that's o.k.! There are many things you can do to include your Groom in on his day. Another idea is a Groom's cake.  The great thing about this is you really get to be creative and personalize this cake for any special interest or hobby or occupation he may have. The best is keeping it a surprise till it comes out on the wedding day.

In the end it is important to remember it is HIS day too! Maybe the Blues Brothers is a bit much for you and an orange and powder blue tux doesn't exactly fit into "Kleinfelds expectations" but try to remember its his day too! Give him something to be excited about. Be creative and come up with a little something special for him!! After all, isn't he the reason your showing up that day? When you see the smile on his face you won't be sorry!
